So you have landed in your desired destination with equal excitement and anticipation, with your hotel room waiting to welcome you. While the bed looks cozy no doubt and you are greeted well, it is still a new place that will be your pad for coming days and you want to feel as comfortable as possible. You want your holiday to be relaxing in every which way and for that you need to sleep well. Here are 5 ways to ensure you sleep well on your holiday

1) Plan well

Plan well for your trip so you are not stressed upon reaching. You could adjust your sleep time in advance according to your place of destination to avoid feeling completely jet lagged. Even shifting your sleep time by an hour would help you stay refreshed on your trip. Try not partying right before a trip so you are not left nursing a hangover while dealing with travel fatigue. Get a good night sleep before the day of your flight, so you are raring to go and have all the energy for your first day in your holiday destination.

2) Carry sleep accessories

Don’t forget to carry sleep accessories such as ear plugs, eye mask or sleep patches or some aromatherapy, as emergency backups, should you need them. After all you do not know how sound proof your room would be or how well covered from the sun. Better to be well equipped and let a good night’s sleep add to the cheer of your holiday.

3) Make your room feel homely

Carry your favourite pillow or slippers or any comfort inducing nightly ritual like a particular herbal tea you like to have, to keep a date with your sleep and wake up feeling happy and reassured. Orange lavender essential oil as known to not only relax nerves but also keep you feeling happy, which helps in sleeping soundly.

4) Nap away

Remember you are on a holiday and can enjoy the luxury of a nap whenever feel like one. So while exploring your new city and taking in all the sights and experiences do feel free to take a break whenever it gets too overwhelming or your body pleads rest. A nap will just restore your energies and help you enjoy the remaining part of the day you have in the foreign land, helping you make the most of your holiday.

5) Have a warm bath

After a long day of sightseeing, soak yourself in a hot tub of water with spa salts and ease your nerves of all tension. In your mind prepare for the next day and discuss any last minute plans with your partner before bed time. Most importantly just relax and look forward to the coming day. Hydrotherapy will help you hit the sack with an empty mind only to be woken up by a new sunshine in another part of the world.

So, enjoy staying well-rested in your escape to paradise and have a great holiday. Bon Voyage!
