How to Have a Well-Dressed Bed
A well-dressed bed starts under the sheet. Put a Mattress Protector on your mattress, keep a spare Mattress Zipper Cover, pick the right pillow for how you sleep, and add a Mattress Topper only if you want it softer. Then dress it with sheets and a throw you like.
Four layers, from the mattress up
1. Mattress Protector
Goes on like a fitted sheet and covers the sides too. Cotton on top, a waterproof layer below, so spills and sweat stay out of the mattress. Fits mattresses up to 12″ thick.
2. Mattress Zipper Cover
A spare cover in your Sunday mattress’s exact size. Zip one off to wash, zip the other on, and the bed is never bare.
3. Pillows

4. Mattress Topper, if you like it softer
1.5″ of soft microfibre on top. It changes the feel, not the support.
Do you need a topper?
- Yes, if you have an Ortho Memory 4 or Ortho Latex 4 Mattress and want a plusher feel. It helps most on our firmest, for side sleepers.
- No, if you have a Latex Plus 4 Mattress. It is already plush. And no topper fixes a sagging mattress.
Then make it look good
- Keep the base simple. White or one soft colour for the sheets. Bring colour with one throw or a few cushions.
- Big to small, back to front. Sleeping pillows at the back, cushions in front.
- Fewer cushions. Two or three look neat. Ten end up on the floor every night.
- A throw at the foot of the bed gives a hotel look and keeps a light blanket close at hand.
Washing

Do I need a mattress protector on a new mattress?
Yes. It keeps sweat, spills and dust out of the mattress from day one, and you can wash it.
Can I buy accessories without a Sunday mattress?
Yes. The protector, pillow and topper suit any mattress in a standard size. Only the zipper cover is made for Sunday mattresses.
Why buy a spare zipper cover?
So the bed is never without a cover while one is being washed. It is made in your Sunday mattress’s exact size.
Will a topper make my mattress softer?
Yes, a little plusher on top. It won’t fix a mattress that sags; that needs support, not a topper.
What if I don’t like an accessory?
Accessories have 100 nights to return and a 1‑year warranty. They come in standard sizes only.
