We get this question quite often—and it’s a good one. What exactly happens when someone returns a Sunday mattress?

The short answer: we never resell a used or opened mattress. That’s just not something we’re comfortable doing, and we believe it’s not something our customers would appreciate either.

So where do these mattresses go?

Returned mattresses from the 100 Nights Trial are either:

  • Used as demo mattresses in our Sunday Sleep Lounges for customer trials
  • Repurposed internally for staff use or testing
  • In select cases, donated to charitable causes in collaboration with NGOs

We do this to ensure that no product goes to waste while maintaining complete hygiene and fairness for all new buyers. It's one more reason we don't play the marketplace game—you won’t find our mattresses folded, repackaged, or resold on third-party sites with inflated markups.

Why do we have such a low return rate?

Very few people return their mattress, and we believe that's because we set the right expectations upfront. Sunday mattresses are made with high-quality, health-first materials like natural latex and organic cotton, and designed for real, long-term comfort. People who could choose any mattress often choose Sunday—for good reason.
