Luring heads to beds..How Hotels Do it!

Isn’t it almost natural every time we walk into a hotel room, we plonk ourselves on the bed and feel the softness of the mattress, complete with its smooth sheets, to discern if we are getting our money’s worth. After all a major benchmark of luxury in hotels is an ultra comfortable bed that has the exceptional ability to drift us into nirvana in no time.

Whether resting in between work calls or lazing, making the most of hotel hospitality, a bed goes a long way in determining how our stay goes. A good sleep no doubt restores mind and body and leaves us with a sense of well being, adding to a great experience. Over time hotels have paid growing attention to this one aspect, be it size of the pillow, number of duvets, softness of topper or mattress aerodynamics.

Hotel groups walk the extra mile to make their beds more alluring than their competitors. The industry has gone to great lengths to lure the rich and the famous into its beds. So much thought and design has gone into the mattresses that hotel chains such as Four Seasons and Marriott, have branched into beds’ retail under their own signature name.

Boutique hotels too in their attempt to promote a customized offering focus on the beds the most, even if they let everything else stay minimalistic.

Global chains have extended their offering to include a 360 degrees approach towards a heavenly sleep experience. They have many sleep solutions at hand for the weary. The bevy of amenities and programmes to promote a restorative snooze include: pillow and duvet menus, resident sleep experts, sleep sensors, aromatherapy sprays and neuro-acoustic music.

Setting new trends, Four Seasons for example has the option of customizing your bed while you check in online. There are three diverse mattress toppers for you to choose from—plush, the extra soft option; firm, the most supportive, or signature, the standard topper.

For couples Marriot has an option for a mattress that is movement resistant. This chain’s proprietary mattress is called The Marriott Bed, and it is one-foot high (plus, below there’s a nine-inch box spring). To help minimize any movement from your partner it is made of special polyurethane foam that is of high-density, so you can sleep without disturbances.

Sleep Number beds can be found in select rooms of some of the Radisson properties. It allows you to decide your own level of firmness. That’s not all. For different levels of softness each side of the bed can be dialled in.

From being just a centre piece beds have certainly taken centre stage!
